Dr. Catherine Wallace

M.D , C.M.E

Catherine Wallace, BS. MD. CME, is a self-dubbed “Jill of all Trades” due to her experience and passion for biochemical research, biomedical engineering, medicine, and the arts. She grew up in Decatur, GA and continues to find herself back in the South even though she was born and partially raised in Taiwan.

As a high school student, Catherine engaged in nanoparticle-based cancer therapeutics research at the Georgia Institute of Technology which sparked her interest in the medical sciences. She received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and graduated Georgia Tech with Highest Honors. Her greatest honor during this time was playing sousaphone in the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Marching Band. She has since been invited to several universities in her home country,

Taiwan, to contribute her experience to research in laser physics and biochemical synthesis. She has also studied in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Ireland. Through biomedical engineering, Catherine discovered her love for patient care which pulled her towards medicine to follow in the foot steps of her grandfather who practiced neurology for over 50 years at Emory. As a medical student at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Catherine continued applying her engineering background by helping develop an autonomous surgical robot at Duke University. By the time Catherine earned her Medical Degree, she had founded the Salvation Army Homeless Healthcare Clinic and a community outreach Health Literacy in Healthcare program which are both still serving the Augusta population today through continued student efforts.

Catherine did enjoy two years of urology residency at Augusta University before deciding to come to Dallas, GA to focus more on preventative and minimally invasive approach to medicine with a focus on knee pain management. Throughout her own medical education journey and beyond, Catherine has been an advocate for culturally competent and coordinated multidisciplinary patient care. Catherine lives in Atlanta with Deborah, her cat, and enjoys science fiction and hot yoga.
